Empowering Families Through Critical Conversations!

A 62-year-old grandfather is granted temporary custody of his grandson after the child’s mother is incarcerated. He’s overwhelmed by court, struggling to keep food on the table, and unsure how to address his grandson’s behavior. Raising Royalty book series, helps navigate the Critical Conversation!

About kinship kollective

Our Initiative

Kinship Kollective is a trauma-informed, community-rooted program serving grandparents, relatives, and kinship caregivers raising children impacted by addiction, incarceration, domestic violence, or family crisis. Founded on lived experience and professional insight, our work centers around stabilizing families, restoring hope, and building bridges between isolated caregivers and the systems they often face alone.

We operate a dynamic wraparound model that includes caregiver coaching, legal navigation, transportation support, child behavior advocacy, and after-school youth enrichment rooted in our Raising Royalty curriculum. Our programs are offered in our own center, through mobile outreach, and in partnership with courts, shelters, schools, and youth service agencies across Western Massachusetts.

Our Approach

We believe support must be immediate, relational, and relevant. Kinship Kollective walks with families through the real moments—when a grandparent gets a call from school and doesn’t know what to do, when a child acts out from trauma, when a caregiver needs a ride to court, or just someone to talk to. We meet people where they are, both physically and emotionally, and respond with tools that make a difference. While caregivers gather to process and learn, their youth participate in therapeutic workshops that teach leadership, emotional control, identity, and purpose. Both generations are served, strengthened,
